Sorry if this has been asked & answered before...why is the footprint for Sammon EEB much larger than the Bain EEB? Is it due to the short turn to be built under Sammon?

I hope they announce some projects/partnerships and the stations are underpinned to allow those developments. The City and Province can actually achieve affordable housing goals as well as family-sized units if the mandate is controlled by the government. Many of the developments surrounding the...

I noticed it in Hong Kong and Singapore too. It should be incorporated with the OL stations for sure as the stations are still in early stage works. For the existing TTC stations, it will be more complicated as the stations will have to be underpinned.

https://www.connectcre.ca/stories/stm-to-develop-real-estate-projects-at-montreal-metro-stations/ I really hope Metrolinx and TTC will explore something like this. There is so much potential here...

Got it. I guess that means a more complicated construction compared to other stations? I always thought building perpendicular under an existing line will be complicated.

What does he mean by Pape station being the "hinge of the Ontario Line"?

I am a bit confused by this. I thought the Ontario Line is to be elevated here. If so, what's the need to create an underpass?

Have they disclosed why the design is in limbo? Does it have anything to do with the soil condition?

All that makes complete sense. So you think the key reason is this getting adjourned is because the developer isn't well organised?

New condo development is essentially dead at the moment. And the situation is not going to change in the near-term, as there is a glut of inventory sitting in the market. I guess the developer may end up withdrawing their application, unless a longer-term deferral is possible.

Does anyone have any context? Or, perhaps what this adjournment means? Sorry, I don't know much about the development process.

Is this project still alive? I thought there was an OLT hearing scheduled in September.

Well, the only reason I made that comparison was to highlight the lack of ambitiousness when proposing these developments. Anyhow, I am sure we all have better things to do than run after semantics.

We are in the midst of a housing crisis. Doesn't matter what LA and Mexico City are doing. We need to address our own challenges. Especially when we have a generational opportunity to densify along a well-established transit line.

Thanks for sharing this! It's unfortunate that IO has proposed only 29-storeys and 6-storeys next to an upcoming interchange station. This is a generational opportunity to bring much needed housing to Greektown, especially where people will have all kinds of amenities. Toronto is North...
