Valley Line LRT | TransEd/Marigold | City of Edmonton

Nice to see they're getting going on the east side of the elevated guideway! I've been excitedly waiting for them to start. Thanks for the pictures!

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

Hold up, in the comments it seems like they're suggesting pickup from the old location (right next to the building) will now be paid?!

    Capital Line LRT

I like the look of option 2 more, but its something like $30M more expensive with limited benefits, so I'm going option 1.

Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) in Edmonton

I'm not sure I understand why it could undermine the LRT. My thought was that a good BRT implementation could potentially spur transit ridership in general leading to more public desire for LRT. I think generally I'd rather have good transit in progress than great transit continually 10+...

EllisDon to Lead Prairie Link High-Speed Rail Partners - Edm-RD-Cal

I feel mixed on the province right now, but a regional rail link is something I really want to see! I'm glad its getting talked about and that there seems to be some high level plans. We need a rail link from Edmonton to Calgary, but even just airport links would be a really good step.

    LRT Expansion Planning

Oh shoot, I didn't realize you were active on this forum! Your videos are a huge part of why I'm interested in public transit. That said I really like the idea of walkthrough trains. Edmonton was recently taking feedback on the layout of the new trains, (just the seating arrangements), but in...

    Edmonton | Metro Line LRT | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

I would absolutely die for a southern expansion like that on the Metro line! Ever since I was a kid I had dreams of a train running through the median of Terwillegar Drive! I don't know if that median would be the best route to run the train, but I still fantasize about it when I'm driving along...

Valley Line LRT | TransEd/Marigold | City of Edmonton

I'll have to post some gantry crane updates the next time I bike out to WEM. I've been salivating over the construction progress going on there. Last I saw they were pouring another support pillar for the part of the line that crosses over from WEM to the center of the street.

    Capital Line LRT

I'm not sure if this has already been posted, but Yegventures had an idea for letter wayfinding maps for the LRT stations Yegventures LRT Exit Map. Maybe I'm just bad with maps, but when I'm trying to exit at one of the underground stations to go to concerts this would be super helpful.

    LRT Expansion Planning

I was so excited opening my subscription feed to find not one but TWO excellent videos on Alberta public transit!

Valley Line LRT | TransEd/Marigold | City of Edmonton

Here’s some more pictures of the construction near WEM and the Mis. Seems like the last segment next to the Mis just got installed.

Cycling and Active Transportation in Edmonton

I'd like to see the routes first, lighting later personally.

EllisDon to Lead Prairie Link High-Speed Rail Partners - Edm-RD-Cal

I feel this immense sense of excitement at the prospect of this even potentially becoming a reality. It would be incredible if I could take a high speed train to visit my family in Calgary over the weekends.

Valley Line LRT | TransEd/Marigold | City of Edmonton

I like this idea. I think systems that punish drivers for poor driving will never be as effective as making it harder to drive poorly and easier to drive safer. Designing infrastructure to influence behavior instead of penalty systems to influence behavior.

    Capital Line LRT

There's a survey going right now about new LRT seat layouts. City of Edmonton: LRT Seating Feedback. I don't like the current seating layout. I find the trains get super clogged up in the face to face seating area during rush hour. People don't squeeze into that area because getting in and out...
