I appreciate the intentionality of the patterned concrete on this one. Once we get above the amenity floor and we start seeing the balconies I think this is really going to shine. While the concrete isn't quite as pleasing in the rain, the curved corners blow the socks off the baby's first...

I think the red brick is much nicer, and will look even better in real life. I find white brick usually ends up highlighting the expansion cuts, especially with the more subtle articulation here. Don't understand why the overhangs and subtle angle are sticking around on the shorter tower. Save...

Very handsome. Love the articulation on the podium, project sites say that it's kept it's retail, and it will serve as a nice transition from alphabet city to the high rises west. Let's hope that at some point the hydro corridor and Belfast get a makeover to match.

    Odenak | 665 Albert St. | 105+123.7m | 31+36s | Dream+Multifaith | Perkins&Will+KPMB+Two Row | U/C

The podium on the east tower truly has a gargantuan floorplate. Seeing it from this angle, I understand why it lags behind the west.

    110 O'Connor St. [Office Demo, Res Replacement] | 82m | 26s | Groupe Mach | GeigorHuot

Perhaps 150 Laurier? It seems a bit smaller but is detenanted.

I'm super excited for this, but I'm also sort of afraid for the future of Spicy Ho Ho nearby

RLA... good? This is a much better compliment to LUX et. al. I would like to see one a few stories higher than the other, but compared to either of the previous proposals I'm singing build baby build!

    General Update/Rumour Thread

I know I'm a sicko for this, but I really like the existing building. It will be a shame to loose the mature trees in front too.

    Office to Residential Conversions

I think the popular imagination of vertical farming is perhaps too influenced by solarpunk facebook fodder images. Like most anything productive in this country, the place and way that makes the most sense for it will be in pole-barns clad in precast or metal paneling on the margins of suburbia...

    Mosaiq Ottawa | 818 Gladstone Ave | 30m | 9s | Ottawa Community Housing | Hobin

No pics as I was on the bike, but the stacked towns appear to be getting framed out now (and fast). Very excited to see cladding start to go up!

    James House | 390 Bank St. | 34m | 9s | Urban Capital + Taggart | RAW

FWIW, Taggart seems to price their retail bays to rent vs some other downtown landlords (cough cough CLV)

    The Westmount | 398-406 Roosevelt Ave. | 21m | 6s | ML DEVCO | RLA

Can't afford articulation but can afford a massive underground parking garage a couple hundred feet from a future subway stop... I'm starting to get worried about ML's Wellington project

    Ottawa | Greystone Village | ?m | 9s | eQ Homes | Barry J. Hobin & A.

The current grey siding + big single pane windows + small eaves style looks horrendous on "single family" styled houses. If they're limited to that palate rowhouses will definitely look better

    Ottawa | YOW Alt Hotel | ?m | 7s | Le Germain | LemayMichaud Architecture Design

I actually think this looks ok but that's probably just because I'm a brutalism loving sicko. I'll take this any day of the week over the usual unarticulated postmodern beige hotel garbage
