    Hamilton Toronto | Royal James Condominiums | 27.5m | 8s | Royal Living | DPAI

An 8-storey building with shops on the ground floor and condos above could really bring some new life to Upper James. I’m curious how they’ll handle parking and traffic, but overall it seems like a solid plan

    Toronto Toronto | 41-47 Hendon Avenue | 126.67m | 38s | Capital Developments | Arcadis

this sounds like a cool little “missing-middle” project at Yonge & Finch-3 storeys with 19 homes. And over on Hendon Ave they’re looking at another 3-storey spot with 11 parking spaces. It could help fill the gap between big towers and single houses, and give us more housing choices.

    Toronto Toronto | 1455 Royal York Road | 14.08m | 3s | UrbinCo | S&C Architects

Looks like they want to build a 4-storey place at 1455 Royal York with 94 units, mostly for seniors needing extra care. There’s gonna be indoor and outdoor spots to hang out, some nice green space, and parking underground plus a few bike racks up front.

    Calgary | West District | ?m | ?s | Truman

The density level is satisfactory although a more comprehensive initial consideration of transit systems should have been conducted. Implementing better bus service and extending the Blue Line network would have proven wiser than focusing on high-end users alone. Could’ve planned that better.

    Calgary | 1st Ave NE Shoppers | 12m | 2s | First Capital | Collabor8

I don't think Bridgeland Market will have much trouble, but Lukes might feel it more. Hopefully, the area stays true to its quirky vibe.

    Travel Discussion Thread

Yeah, oil's still a huge deal here. If it takes a hit, it'll ripple through more than people realize. Kinda like how Toronto’s financial mess would shake things up, but oil’s boom and bust just hit harder.

    General Construction Updates

It's all about preserving the charm. But if people focused on better design rather than just stopping things, it’d be better for everyone. Seton’s looking good with those mixed-use buildings! As for the concrete warehouse, it’s a big change for the area, curious how it'll fit in.

    Calgary's Residential Highrise Boom 2000 - 2025 and Beyond

The city of Calgary has undergone major transformation through its recent trend of building highrise structures. People cannot imagine today how many new buildings appeared in Calgary after the 1990s as the city has expanded dramatically. The Pointe on the Bow building stands tall to this day...
