Big delay on the Red and Blue line today. A car hit a C-train around 9th street. I think the West LRT was affected the most. I wish the C-train was underground in downtown.

That's interesting. I wonder what percentage of trips on the red line draw ridership from the east side of the Bow River? I would guess that it can't be that much...around 5-10% or so?

That's a very good point. But...at least the hardest part would be over. Building the 8th Ave. Subway is going to be painful for the city and for downtown. Also, the original 11km LRT route was built for $175 million in 1981. That's $686 million or $62 million/km in 2026 dollars. Not a bad...

Why not? The BART system in SF has 4 lines sharing a tunnel under Market St.. I'm sure three LRT lines can share one tunnel without effecting operations too much. Plus, the SE LRT will only operate at 10 minute headways during rush hour.

Man...I really wish the city would have built an LRT subway under 7th Ave from day 1. The surface of 7th Ave could have been a transit corridor dedicated solely to buses. As the idiom goes "Shoulda, woulda, coulda".

This. Plus, I find the traffic to be horrible in Kelowna. Over the summer, I was driving from Summerland to Vernon and when I reached West Kelowna it was bumper to bumper until about Rutland. It was also around 10am or so I thought the morning rush would be over.
