Alto - High Speed Rail (Toronto-Quebec City)

I don't care if it costs $200 billion. Build it.

Alto - High Speed Rail (Toronto-Quebec City)

It would be insanely penny-wise, pound-foolish, though. Easier to build, maybe, but would preclude the possibility of connecting to existing passenger tracks where reaching the top speed isn't necessary, and puts it much further away from both the downtown core and Pearson International Airport.

    Church Street Pedestrianization Pilot

Just checked, it has now been posted. Tragically I do not possess the required qualifications.

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

I did consider Centennial College, but I felt like it was too close to Scarborough Centre to make sense at a stop. On second thought, the distance between McCowan and Morningside is pretty big, so if the stop was shifted onto Progress instead, right on Centennial's doorstep, that wouldn't be so bad.

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

In my mind, a 1 km diversion from the rest of the route is only justifiable for an express bus or a long-distance GO route. Sheppard would be my choice for the stop over York Mills, so that bus bays emptied out by the Line 4 west extension can be filled again, with stops in the eastern...

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

I remember a GO bus taking the 401 shoulders to bypass weekend traffic through Milton, so it's not like it hasn't been tried. I don't think bus priority on the shoulders is impossible on the 401, but I would posit that it's unlikely because of the question of station placement through North York...

Bradford Bypass (MTO, Hwy 400 - Hwy 404)

And they're also obscenely congested during rush hour, and have plenty of commercial driveways. I've given up completely on Davis east of Bathurst, unless my destination is within Newmarket. My go-to routing is Mulock within Newmarket, and up Bathurst to take Davis to the 400. I also like St...

    TTC: Streetcar Network

I wonder if some streetcar stops being removed would also allow for the removal of traffic signals at the same intersections. One example that sticks out to me is Dundas Street West at Sheridan Avenue - it's less than 200m from another streetcar stop in each direction (Brock Ave to the west and...

Bradford Bypass (MTO, Hwy 400 - Hwy 404)

That's what I've been saying! One of the major distinctions here, to me, is that there is a substantial existing population being served by this, both locals and passers-through, for trips that cannot be reasonably accommodated by public transit. It will also enable a denser built form in...

Bradford Bypass (MTO, Hwy 400 - Hwy 404)

You can pull an anonymous social media post to justify any position. The existence of road salt shouldn't kneecap the regional transportation network. Building the Bradford Bypass would allow Bradford to follow through with their plan to transform Dissette Street from a truck traffic sewer to a...

Bradford Bypass (MTO, Hwy 400 - Hwy 404)

Everyone in the towns of Bradford, East Gwillimbury, and anyone who has to travel to or through those towns on perpetually congested arterial roads. Unlike some other proposed freeways in Ontario, this one has overwhelming local support. Bring it on.

    Multiplexes

It's hard not to look at that floor plan and think this was always the play. The layout without this addition wall is almost nonsensical - central galley kitchen with equally sized living areas on either side, a bathroom with ensuite bath on each end? The builders/developers here are making a...
