    Hamilton: General Service Discussion

My hope with James North is once HSR Next is implemented and there's even more bus traffic going up to West Harbour, we can justify closing the street to private vehicles. Maybe from GO Centre to Strachan, with some lane reductions downtown to improve the streetscape.

Didn't grap a pic but there are brackets all over the walls now to mount cladding on.

Main advantage here is a direct connection to upper levels of the parkade, like Burlington.

Completing the bridge earlier won't make the TBMs bore down Queen street any sooner. It's not on the critical path for this project so there's no sense in accelerating its timeline, something that likely costs money through more workers or overtime.

    Ottawa Transit Developments

No bus to Kanata stops at Heron now that the 88 has been bifurcated, and the 60s have never gone that way. Hard to call any of OC's recent operations normal but it sounds like you got doubly unlucky, once with the delay and again with the 40ft. OC has no 60s or DDs on order so when they're gone...

What do you mean by this? If you're talking about the 61/62/23 its often better than 20 min headways and frequently uses artics with the occasional double decker.

It won't just be slow zones. Rumours have been swirling the last week or so that they're planning to shut the entire line down for 6 months over the summer. I won't place much stock in them until a better source reports on it but the Mayor isn't ruling it out...

    VIA Rail

The explanation I saw for these eye-popping percentages is exactly that, there was a one-time loan last budget for Canada Post, and the drop for VIA is because they have completed purchasing the Ventures.

GO Transit Fleet Equipment and other

This is just nonsense. ALTO will share whatever electrification standards MX uses (likely 25kVAC) exactly so that they can run through their territory- remember that the project is using TMC so no matter how they get to downtown Toronto, they'll run on the Oakville sub eventually. I think if...

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Based on the "Corridor Missions" chart MX showed at the board meeting, a fourth Burlington platform and the Burloak grade separation are the only things holding up 15-min off-peak service to Burlington (I'm assuing the Grimsby station is not actually a blocker for this). I can see Burloak...
