Its a football/ soccer stadium first and they don't need 45,000 seats for those teams. They have Rogers Stadium north of toronto and RBC Amphitheatre a couple hundred metres from here that host outdoor concerts. They don't need a 3rd outdoor concert venue.

There were a couple hundred tickets left on ticketmaster an hour before the game. New hockey capacity is probably around 16,500(maybe a bit more if they pack the premium suites/ clubs) . Pre reno it was 17,383.

Rink looks good on tv. I do wonder if they need so many service vomitories at ground level, especially behind each net. Would be nice if there were seats there. Prior to the reno they had only one zamboni entrance behind one net, with seats behind the other net.

It was more a public liability. It was not making money and the City was facing end of life repairs and maintenance in the millions of dollars.

Attendance was 5,706. The lower bowl was pretty full(albeit the premium areas weren’t that full). They definitely reduced the capacity of the lower bowl with the renos as it used to be 8,000 plus. They market the post Reno in the round concert capacity at 18,000 whereas pre reno max concert...
