Roads: Ambassador & Gordie Howe Bridges

The obvious attraction on the Canadian side would be Ojibway. (The border plaza being just about the top-right of this map). I'm not sure if there are any plans at the moment to make that a nice connection. There's also a trail they built alongside the Herb Gray Parkway to the new bridge.

    VIA Rail

I might be reading too much into this, but it kind of sounds like the bidders didn't believe the HFR proposal was viable. On the other hand they do think that HSR would actually be viable. The point is, HFR isn't actually the "cheaper" option.

People complain all the time that we're only building luxury condos, and now you're all complaining about how these units aren't going to be nice enough? I swear, people will never be satisfied.

New Windsor-Essex Acute Care Hospital (Windsor Regional Hospital, 9s, Stantec) (Windsor)

It should be noted that the new location is next to the airport, so that creates a hard limit on how high the hospital can be built. I think it seems kind of silly to have a new hospital that will be finishing construction in around 2030 be surrounded by surface parking lots, but I suppose it...

Neither of the adjacent buildings deserve heritage designation.

And here I thought people liked architecture that fits into its surrounding context.

    VIA Rail

Where would this leave Windsor, London and Sarnia? GO is already piloting service to London, so having GO expand service to cover Windsor and Sarnia is only a few more steps from that, but at that point they'd really need to get separate trainsets and set up essentially a separate non-"commuter"...

    Transit Fantasy Maps

This map is actually by ericmacm, which he posted to Windsor's subreddit a few years ago. I don't think he's shared it here, but I stumbled upon it recently. Windsor is pretty well laid out to benefit from a good rapid transit line or two. LRT is probably too much to ask, but even just a...

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

I would like to see the PRESTO system expanded to be an Ontario-wide thing. It's adoption by Ottawa has already established a precedent for using the system outside of the GTHA. Presently Transit Windsor has a painfully mediocre implementation of a "card" system, where you have to visit the...

If you're buying a 30 million condo you probably already have a few other homes already, with plenty of land. For what it's worth, I would totally buy the penthouse if I had that kind of money.

It is becoming increasingly clear that parks must be banned in the downtown core if housing is to ever become even just "a bit pricey". More seriously, it's not like a park is suddenly worthless just because it's shadowed.

    Toronto Toronto | 1 Sumach Street | 201.75m | 59s | Block | RAW Design

I really like this, but that one remaining building on the block really sticks out like a sore thumb. Were they not able to acquire that piece of land? Ideally it would be redeveloped with the rest of the site. It could even remain as an Alfa Romeo service center, so long as it fits in visually...

Roads: Ambassador & Gordie Howe Bridges

A recent blog post mentions that the towers on either side of the river will be 220m tall, about as tall as the tallest building in Detroit.

The triangles make it seem kinda like two thinner towers from the wide side.
