Why would it not be in an urban area? Are they going to bus 3500 employees out to the middle of nowhere every day? Where are these people coming from?

    Toronto Toronto | Union Station Revitalization | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | NORR

In regards to passenger flow, Union is already busier than Grand Central and is second in North America behind Penn (albeit according to 2018 numbers). The gap between it and Penn is around 20 million people/year but I could see it shrinking as Union continues to grow, while Penn continues to...

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Thanks for the summary, it was very helpful and informative! I drove by the west side of Aurora the other day and from what I could see there were no permanent structures obstructing a third track west of the new platform, although I could have missed something.

The first two images are giving Central Park Tower vibes... if it had a little elegance and wasn't an ugly rectangle

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

From what I have observed, the second platform at Aurora will not leave space for a third track. I heard the original plan was for three platforms at Aurora, one for each track, but I recall reading that the plan has changed to two tracks/platforms. I wonder if King City will keep some space for...

GO Transit Fleet Equipment and other

Can't they just order 710s straight from the source (EMD)? They still sell them

    Ontario Northland/Northern Ontario Transportation

Grade separation would only benefit GO/ONR/VIA as CN only runs east/west across it. It would also be much more complex than Davenport as CN needs the top two diverging tracks to connect north with the Bala. There's no point as the tracks immediately north would still be CN-owned with little room...

Hmm I wonder what a "platfrom" is. New Metrolinx terminology?

This mammoth tower next to Aura will be similar to One BW's effect on One Bloor East's prominence in the skyline

Uh oh... that second fin to the right of the corner on the first setback floor is in the wrong spot... gonna bug me forever if it stays like that. Nice shots!

    Toronto Toronto | Union Pearson Express | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | MMM Group Limited

I rode it the other weekend up to Mt Dennis to try out Line 5 and my train sounded/felt like it was about to derail. It seemed to be a train problem, not a track one, as it hunted and vibrated exponentially harder as we picked up speed. I could see panels shaking inside the train and it felt...

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

To be honest the Eglinton-Yonge transfer in particular is much more painless than I expected without far horizontal/vertical distances to travel between lines (unlike Cedarvale), although the top of the escalators on the Line 1 platform gets pretty crowded.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

The optimist in me is inclined to believe this. I also noticed a large amount of wooden ties and tie plates delivered along the expanded ROW both north and south of Eglinton after riding today.

    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Have you actually ridden the line yet? I have and nobody around me seemed to think it was "piecemeal". The general public doesn't care what kind of train it is, they just take it where they need to go. To them most of it is a subway with minute differences to Line 1 or 2. Asking anyone on the...
