So happy to see two going up at once. We need more of this. Slow moving projects aren't going to help in a housing crisis.

Also when people start to occupy the commercial building next to that plaza, that should help too. I can imagine some people will go sit outside on breaks/lunch in the plaza.

I'm at the point now where if developers are agreeing to start projects within the next 12 months, just give them the tax break and get it started. We need the density and units (especially since this one is 400 units for seniors, a growing population), and it works out to about $330K a year...

Between this and the building next door completing, this will hopefully make for a more lively street front.

I honestly don't understand why they haven't started with the skyscrapers in anticipation of the LRT. .We need the housing, they are already approved, and as is there is already a walkable neighbourhood there with grocery, transit, etc. right at Centrum. Just start building already!

Seems like it. A + B will still be built by them, and then buildings C, D, F, G are for sale. Seems like those buildings can now be other things too like senior living, hotel, etc. On the other hand, if it means that another developer can start sooner on the other parcels to get the whole...

I agree. That mall is on it's last legs, and with transit it's so easy for anyone in the area to get to Rideau. Redevelop the land into a small community.

Let's hope phase 2 is a little more exciting.

I'm pretty sure the next phase of this one (the 2 high rise towers that will be next to the highway) is supposed to have a grocery store.

And they have started the block of townhomes already too!
