They’ve started demolishing the house

There are a couple posters up on the fence around this site now. I was driving so couldn't take a picture, but I'm pretty sure it advertised a website called rowanresidences.ca. That doesn't load so either my memory is bad or they put up the poster before activating the website

I work nearby and this has been a really extensive reno. They gutted the entire building, from what I can tell. I'm curious to see what kind of commercial tenants they get for the ground floor when all said and done

Ah I didn’t realize they had to demolish houses for phase 1. Maybe it’s still going to be a while then before things get going.

They already removed the top soil from half of the site in the fall, so maybe they're doing the rest of it now. Anyway will keep an eye on it, but I do suspect this project is close to finally starting construction.

The lonely excavator is back and digging more holes. I guess it’s soil testing or something?

It will be a momentous day when they finally finish the top of this building

OBJ story on it: https://obj.ca/bank-street-property-for-sale/ This is pretty brutal because that entire block of storefronts is boarded up along Bank St. That eyesore will probably remain for many months now.

There's definitely still a fair amount of work happening along Scott Street in Westboro. The wires were only put up quite recently, and Westboro station still has workers at it most days. They've just started building the bus loop there.
