Bricks are reappearing on the Bloor Collegiate facade:

    Toronto Toronto | Bloor-Lansdowne GO Station | 6.77m | 1s | Metrolinx | Brown + Storey

They've closed off the sidewalk under the rail overpass on the south side of Bloor (yet again, and with no community notice this time). But you can see why! It looks like they've made progress on excavating the station and have broken through the retaining wall between the future station and...

Yeah, I used to get attacked by them all the time while running; they had a habit of making nests right near the Martin Goodman Trail.

We all thought Toronto real estate was in a slump, but pie-in-the-sky renderings are BACK, baby!

Not that I'm inclined to give Metrolinx even a shred of credit, but there is work happening here, however sporadically. I live very close to the site and though I can't see any activity due to the placement of the site, my whole apartment shakes sometimes from the excavation.

Waterfront Transit Reset Phase 1 Study

Hot take perhaps but I genuinely do not care what they call it. If a silly marketing name is somehow politically useful and it helps get the damn thing built they can call it the Nuclear Rocket Powered Supertrain for all I care.

Cycling: West Toronto Railpath (City of Toronto, Phase II Proposed)

I don't suppose there was any word on when the segment from Bloor to Ernest might open? Peering through the fence this morning from the Bloor bridge it seems relatively close (it looks like they're wrapping up putting in noise walls), but knowing Metrolinx that means literally nothing, it could...

Cycling: West Toronto Railpath (City of Toronto, Phase II Proposed)

I assume they'll do the rest eventually, yeah. The same dashed lines can be seen in the (still closed) segment of Railpath south of Bloor to the Perth entrance.

    Church Street Pedestrianization Pilot

Montreal: we close many, many kilometres of roads every summer! It's great! Toronto: well maybe we can do a couple of blocks of one road for part of the summer as a pilot after we think about it for a year

On an analogue typewriter, no less. The funny thing about that (classic) opening line is how it reads differently now that a dead channel isn't a dull snowy grey, but a perfect, cloudless blue

    Toronto Toronto | Safehaven Bloor Street | 57m | 14s | Safehaven | Cumulus

It loses some retail, but I don't know that that would have a lot of impact. It looks like the new build would have one retail slot, versus the current three (Queen's Shop salon, a Subway sandwich, and the music therapy centre which doesn't do much to animate the street). Feels like a wash.
